I grew up on the East Coast and in the South (shoutout Texas and Boston) and found my way to the west coast in my 20s. I always wanted to hike, camp, and backpack, but never had the time or money to until my late 20s when I lived in northern California. I decided to go alone after learning the basics through YouTube, and I fell in love and never stopped :) I started going into the Sierra Nevada every weekend, camping out the back of my 2wd Mazda3 sedan for a couple years, and learned so much about the outdoors and myself in the process.

I grew up anonymously running a YouTube channel that created genre-bending movie trailers (think... if Harry Potter were a horror movie) and knew I wanted to be a videographer/cinematographer since I was 12. Alas, I was convinced to go a different route and ended up getting my Ph.D. and working as a cancer researcher for a few years before realizing I was deeply unhappy and finding my way back.

I combined my love for making videos, telling stories, and helping others with my love for the outdoors, and here we are! I love being able to help others find their confidence to go after what they want and to educate others about the outdoors, including safety, diversity and inclusion, gear, and decision-making.
